If Doing Drugs Make People Feel Better, Then How Is It Harmful?

Addiction is a chronic disorder that creates functional change to your brain circuits. Normally, people do drugs to make themselves feel better. It relieves you of your stress but even before you realize, you lapse into addiction and and your healthy body becomes dysfunctional! If not treated immediately, drugs can be the cause of your death.

Reasons why people do drugs


* To feel good
- Most type of drugs cause a sense of euphoria that stimulates your feelings of power and self-confidence. Cocaine causes increased level of energy while heroin gives you a feel of relaxation and satisfaction.

* To feel and do better - Drugs give you an apparent relief from anxiety and stress. Many youths resort to drugs to do better in their academic fields. Prescription drugs are prohibited in sports fields but many do it to better their performances.

* Social pressure
- This is the main problem for teenagers for whom peer pressure plays a major role. They give in to addiction to look cool and to blend in with crowds.

The time when the problem arises

The common mistake is when you think you can control the use of drugs. You fall into it’s claws before knowing and slowly, the initial pleasurable activities start to become less pleasurable. You feel the need to do drugs more frequently, and this is the telltale sign of addiction. The condition worsens and now, you do need the drug to feel respite, instead you start doing it to feel normal.

Occasional drug use is equally harmful; you use an opioid to get high and in a minute, it will start having its bad effects. Overdosing of drugs paralyses your nervous system and it causes you your life, before long.
